CHRISTCHURCH - Almost two months after her arrest, bail has been granted to an 18-year-old Dunedin woman charged with coming up to Christchurch with two older men and committing a robbery.
Police have charged her with robbing a service station in Opawa Road on July 3. They allege one of the men went into the station to commit the robbery at 1.35am, while Sarah Joyce Anderson remained in the car with the driver.
The three are jointly charged with robbing the attendant of cash and cigarettes and one of the men is charged with unlawful possession of a knife.
Defence counsel Craig Ruane today put a case to Christchurch District Court Judge Philip Moran for Anderson's release on bail, telling him the teenager had not enjoyed being held in custody the last few weeks.
Judge Moran allowed bail but told her she must return to Dunedin and live with her mother in Mornington, be at home every night from 9pm to 7am so the police can check on her, and not associate with the co-accused.
The two men remain in custody. The trio are due for a depositions hearing on September 13.
Anderson's occupation is given as a sales representative.
