A teenager has fallen 20m down a cliff while on a bush walk in the Manawatu George this afternoon.
The accident happened on the gorge track approximately 12 km east from Palmerston North.
A Fire Service spokesman said emergency services were called to the Red Falls section of the track.
Palmerston North senior sergeant Steve Crawford said a 17-year-old girl had fallen down the cliff but struggled to climb back on to the track.
A rescue helicopter winched her to safety and she was taken to Palmerston North Hospital.
