The serious crash unit is investigating the death of a young pedestrian on Auckland's North Shore.
The 18-year-old was struck by a vehicle on State Highway 17 near Dairy Flat just after 9pm last night.
Despite first aid from an off-duty police officer, the young man was pronounced dead at the scene.
