Tauranga's Otumoetai College is mourning a 17-year-old student who was killed in a crash between his motorbike and a car in the lower Kaimai Ranges on Wednesday evening.
Anthony Stewart Hill is the second pupil of the school to die in a road crash this year.
Principal Dave Randall says a special assembly was held yesterday for Year 13 pupils and it was fantastic to see how the students supported each other.
He says the school prides itself on being able to strongly unite in such circumstances, and he says they need to "be there" in particular when Anthony's twin brother returns to school.
A large turnout of pupils is expected at Anthony's funeral tomorrow.
