The teenage driver of a car that lost control around a bend in Queesntown was cut from the vehicle and helicoptered to Dunedin hospital in a serious condition.
About 12.40 this morning emergency services were called to the crash on Gore Rd, where a Toyota Sprinter carrying three people, including the 17-year-old woman driver from Invercargill, lost control on a right hand bend, crossed the centre line and crashed into a parked van.
The van then shunted another van into a fourth vehicle.
None of the other vehicles were occupied at the time of the crash.
The driver and her passenger were removed from the car by emergency services and were taken to hospital.
