A teenager who used a knife to rob a Northland dairy of cash and cigarettes has been sentenced to two years and three months in jail.
Meka Kenneth Ashby, 19, appeared for sentencing in the Whangarei District Court after earlier pleading guilty to aggravated robbery.
His 15-year-old co-accused was handed 150 hours' community work and placed under social welfare supervision.
All the stolen items from the robbery at the Paparoa Dairy on June 16 this year - including 15 packets of tobacco, cigarettes and two lighters, four peanut slabs and $225 cash - were recovered.
