Teen injured in dirt bike crash

A teenager is in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital's intensive care unit after a dirt bike accident on a Bay of Plenty orchard on Wednesday.

St John ambulance staff were called to a property at Paengaroa, 10km south-east of Te Puke, just after 5pm.

The 16-year-old had gone over the handlebars of the off-road motorbike and hit his head as he landed, St John staff said.
