A 17-year-old appeared in Lower Hutt District Court today charged with stealing a cash box from the Waterloo bus depot where a driver died on Friday night.
The defendant has interim name suppression until his next appearance on May 15.
On Monday, an unemployed man, aged 20, was in court on an identical charge and was remanded until the same date. Both men are on bail and forbidden to have contact with each other. No pleas have been entered.
The cash box, containing $153.50, was that of bus driver Herman Curry, 64, who was found unconscious and face-down beside a petrol pump at the depot about 10pm last Friday.
He had head injuries but police have since said he died of a medical condition.
