A 19-year-old has been taken to hospital after she sustained burns to her face at a restaurant.
A St. Johns spokeswoman said the teenagers injuries were the result of "an accident in a restaurant" and said she was in a serious condition.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident shortly before 9.30 this evening and are transporting the girl to Auckland City Hospital.
