A teenage girl remained critically ill in Nelson Hospital today after being hit by a car in the city on Thursday night.
Police said the 19-year-old was one of a group of people allegedly kicking letterboxes, rubbish bins and vehicles in the city.
Acting Sergeant Brett Currie of Nelson police said it appeared the woman had walked on to the road on Weka St and was hit by a car.
Police were still investigating whether the driver of the car will face charges.
A 16-year-old girl was charged with disorderly behaviour soon after the incident.
