Police investigating the death of a young man whose body was found in central Wellington this morning do not yet know how he died.
Emergency services were called to the Soho apartment complex on Egmont St about 8.30am where the man's body was found.
Detective Inspector Paul Basham, of Wellington CIB, said police and forensic experts spent much of the day examining the scene, and the area would remain cordoned off overnight.
"The body of this young man is yet to be formally identified, however it has been removed for a post-mortem examination which will be carried out tomorrow."
The circumstances around the death are being investigated.
Police urged anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual overnight in the vicinity of Egmont, Ghuznee or Dixon Streets to get in touch.
