A teenager who "died" and was brought back to life after he smashed his fist through a window later died yesterday in Hawke's Bay Hospital.
Police found the 18-year-old man unconscious and bleeding profusely from his arm outside his house in the Hastings suburb of Mayfair about 12.30am yesterday.
Senior Sergeant Stuart Fleming said it appeared he had smashed a window during an argument with his father.
It is understood his heart stopped shortly after the incident but Hawke's Bay Hospital staff were able to revive him.
However, there were serious concerns about his recovery because he was deprived of oxygen. He died later that afternoon.
Police have not yet released his name.
