A teenage motorcyclist has died following a head-on crash in Tokoroa early this week.
The 16-year-old was airlifted to Waikato Hospital with serious head and leg injuries following the crash, which happened when his bike and a Toyota Surf four-wheel-drive vehicle collided on Jack Henry Rd, about 12.30pm on Monday. He died in hospital yesterday.
Early investigations indicated that the teenager had been driving in the wrong lane as he came to a blind right-hand bend and then collided with the Toyota travelling around the bend in the opposite direction, police said.
