A South Auckland teenager died after being hit by a car following a row at his cousin's birthday party. Senituli Siulua, 17, a Manukau Institute of Technology student, was knocked down by a car in Heathberry Close, Papatoetoe, about 1am on Saturday. He died in Middlemore Hospital about 6pm.
Four men aged between 18 and 22 charged with assault on a female will appear in Manukau District Court today. Three other people died on weekend roads. A three-car crash at Karapiro in south Waikato claimed a life yesterday.
In Hawkes Bay, Denelle Shirley Burridge, 46, died when her vehicle rolled at Eskdale on Friday night. And in Hamilton, a young woman died when her car hit a power pole. She was Emma Aubrey, 18, of Hamilton.
