Ms Cooper said she was excited by the chance to work with the brightly coloured fabric. "I quite like colourful things so I was like 'yes! that's me'."
With a love of vintage clothing, Ms Cooper used the sari fabric to create a 70s-inspired jumpsuit with a large gold flower emblazoned on the torso.
"I really wanted to do something a little bit different, I didn't want to make a dress like everyone else.
"It's still feminine and when the legs are together it still looks like a dress."
She admits she is clothing obsessed and describes her sense of style as "colourful and out-there".

"They are both really creative, my mum and my gran. Gran could make anything and the same with mum."
Recognising her potential, her mother encouraged her to enrol at Fashion Tech at the end of Year 12.
"I fell in love straight away, and it's one of the best decisions I've made because I've realised my passion.
"I'm in love with clothes."
She is unsure of where her career will take her, but is certain she wants to pursue a career in fashion, and hopes to one day visit Melbourne and New York.
"There's a world of opportunity in the fashion industry.
"I'd really like to move to different cities and see their fashion industry."
