A 16-year-old has today denied murdering a Christchurch pensioner.
The teenager, who has name suppression which includes a ban on publishing the accused's gender, has been charged with killing 87-year-old Harold Richardson at his Owens Terrace home in Upper Riccarton last month.
His body was found inside the house in the morning of August 2.
Today, through defence counsel Jonathan Eaton QC, the youth pleaded not guilty in the High Court at Christchurch.
The youth will turn 17 before a case review hearing on October 23.
