Teen dead after Waikato crash

A teenage driver is dead after crashing on a one-lane bridge near Otorohanga, 65km south of Hamilton, early this morning.

The crash happened about 3.20am on Mangawhero Rd.

The driver was trapped in the car and died soon after he was freed by emergency services.

Emergency services and crash investigators remained at the scene this morning and Mangawhero Rd was blocked to traffic with diversions in place at Otewa and Hewer roads.
