A teenager has been charged with stealing women's underwear off washing lines in a Christchurch suburb, after a number of complaints to police.
The 16-year-old was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with seven counts of burglary.
He was due to appear in Christchurch District Court today, police said.
"Items ofinterest" were found yesterday by police investigating reports of burglaries and female underwear being stolen off washing lines in Upper Riccarton. The items were found at a nearby address, police said.
Investigations into the incidents were continuing, police said.
Anyone in the Upper Riccarton area who had female underwear stolen from their clothes line, had their car broken into, or items taken from their property, is asked to contact Canterbury Police 03 363 7400, or anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
