A teenage girl has been charged with the murder of a 17-year-old who collapsed and died while shopping in Whangarei.
Suppression orders have been lifted for Shaylene Wharerau, also 17, who is accused of stabbing Brendon Panapa-Ripia in the chest three weeks ago during a domestic dispute.
At the time the young man received surgery in Auckland but died last week while shopping at the Warehouse.
Wharerau entered no plea when appearing in the Whangarei District Court last week and has been released on bail.
She will re-appear in court next month.
