A Christchurch teenager has been charged with dangerous driving causing death after a four-year-old boy was hit by a car on a footpath in May.
Police also laid charges of dangerous driving causing injury and a charge for driving an uncertified and unsafe modified vehicle.
The teenager is accused driving the car that collided with three members of a Christchurch family who were walking in central Christchurch on the evening of May 21.
Four-year old Nayan Samuel Woods died after the collision.
The car slid from side to side on the road before climbing the footpath and hitting Nayan's mother Emma Woods and her other son, six-year-old Jacob.
Jacob received multiple fractures in the collision, while Mrs Woods escaped with only minor injuries.
The accused teenager is due to appear in the Christchurch District Court on June 28.
