A 19-year-old man will appear in court tomorrow in connection with the knife point robbery of a woman taxi driver in Tauranga last night.
The incident happened about 11pm after the taxi driver drove a man from Mount Maunganui to the bottom of Seventeenth Ave in Tauranga, where he threatened her with a knife, taking a sum of cash and two wallets.
Police said the man fled on foot and was tracked by a police dog to Fifteenth Ave motorway.
He was being treated at Tauranga Hospital for a dog bite injury and would be held in custody to appear in Tauranga District Court tomorrow.
