Armed police were called to a Tauranga house today after a teenager made threats toward an elderly relative.
Police said the armed offenders squad was called to suburban Matua about 2pm after the 18-year-old threatened his relative, saying he had a firearm at the house.
Police did not find any firearms.
The teenager was arrested and charged with threatening to kill, possession of cannabis and possession of utensils for use with cannabis.
He was bailed to appear in Tauranga District Court on July 23.
