A teenager has been arrested following a suspected homicide in Upper Hutt.
A scene examination is being carried out at a Trentham property after a 50-year-old man collapsed and died following a domestic dispute.
Officer in charge of the inquiry Detective Inspector Mike Johnson says an 18-year-old male has since been arrested and charged with assault.
"This matter is being investigated to establish exactly how this man has died and if any person is responsible. A scene examination is being carried out over much of today," Mr Johnson said.
The name of the victim will not be released until all next of kin have been told.
No other people are being sought in relation to the incident, and the teenager will appear in the Upper Hutt District Court this afternoon.
