A teenager accused of killing another teenager and injuring 10 others in a van crash appeared in Rotorua District Court yesterday.
The teenager, who was granted interim name suppression faced one charge of dangerous driving causing the death of 17-year-old schoolboy Jesse Howe, and 10 charges of dangerous driving causing injury.
The accused was driving a van carrying 12 people home to Rotorua from a party in Taupo when it rolled on State Highway 5 last July. All occupants were thrown from the van, several seriously injured.
Jesse Howe died in hospital from his injuries in August last year.
The accused was bailed to appear before a registrar on January 27.
