Teen admits raping woman

A teenager has admitted raping a 73-year-old woman in her house in the south Taranaki town of Eltham last month.

Taerata Daniel Turahui, 17, also pleaded guilty to five charges, of sexual violation and one of burglary when he appeared in Hawera District Court yesterday.

He was remanded in custody for sentencing on August 31.
