A Masterton teenager is facing a raft of charges after he allegedly crashed a stolen car into a house while being chased by police early this morning.
Police said the pursuit began just before 2am on Villa St after they spotted the driver of the Saab acting suspiciously near the Waipoua River.
Senior Sergeant Warwick Burr said as the car was turning into Judds Rd from High St it crashed through a concrete block fence and into a house.
He said the 15-year-old driver ran away but was later arrested and charged with unlawful taking, dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving while disqualified. He said the stolen vehicle caught fire and was extensively damaged.
An 18-year-old was also in the car but he has not been charged.
