Technical woes deter French navy visit

Technical woes have forced last minute changes to the visit to Auckland of a French navy ship.

The patrol vessel La Moqueuse was due in Auckland tomorrow on a four-day goodwill visit but the French embassy said because of technical problems it could not leave its home port of Noumea for a week and would now not visit.

In its place would be another patrol vessel, La Glorieuse, due to arrive on Saturday.

The ship would be open to the public on Sunday.
