Searchers are this morning waiting for a break in the wind to send up three helicopters, including an Iroquois helicopter, to scour the Tararua Ranges for a missing runner.
Alistair Shelton, 33, has been missing since going for a run on Saturday morning and failing to meet his family for lunch.
Heavy rain and high winds scampered yesterday's search.

A police spokesman said an Iroquois helicopter, and two other helicopters, were on standby and ready to take off when the wind eased.
