A teacher who used inappropriate and repeated sexualised comments with his year 11 students has escaped being deregistered by the Teachers Council.
The teacher made comments like "Let me take a photo of your bum so it lasts longer" and "bend over and I'll take a photo of your tits" and told a student and had "nice tits" and a "nice bum".
The case was brought to the attention of authorities after teachers overheard students discussing the teacher's inappropriate behaviour.
In a decision released by the Teachers Council's disciplinary tribunal this month the teacher was found to have "well and truly crossed the boundaries of appropriate behaviour".
While the tribunal did not go so far as to deregister him it did suspend his practising certificate until he addresses his "lack of understanding of proper boundaries".
The part-time teacher, who is not identified, has since resigned from the unnamed school.
