Teacher fined for downloading images

An Auckland teacher has been fined $3850 after he admitted downloading pornography from the internet.

Neil Newman, 55, was charged with downloading images from a website offering publications that sexually exploited children and young people.

The part-time lecturer at the Auckland University of Technology School of Engineering appeared in the Auckland District Court yesterday.
