KEY POINTS:
A schoolteacher has been censured for allowing two pupils aged 12 and 13 access to an inappropriate email between his wife and another person.
But he has been allowed to continue teaching, the Dominion Post reports today.
The Teachers Council's disciplinary tribunal said the stress he was under because he believed that his wife was having an affair was a mitigating factor and his behaviour was at the lower end of the scale of seriousness.
The email between his wife and another person included: "Thought about u and me waking up together and the kids were still asleep, well rather I was awake and soon made u awake and I slowly kissed down your body until you were very receptive ..."
The teacher said said a pupil had taken printed emails off his desk after they had talked about the teacher's marriage breakup.
A complaint against him was investigated by his secondary school, which allowed him to continue teaching but put conditions in place, including seeing a psychiatrist and making a formal apology.
