Teacher and husband on child sex counts

A Nelson teacher and her husband will appear in Nelson District Court on charges of unlawful sexual connection with children under the age of 12.

The 44-year-old woman has been charged with unlawful sexual connection with a girl under 12 years of age between January 1, 1990, and December 31, 1991, in the North Island.

Her 38-year-old husband is charged with inducing a girl under 12 to perform an indecent act, indecent assault, unlawful sexual connection with a girl under 12, indecent assault on a boy between 12 and 16 years of age and unlawful sexual connection with a boy between 12 and 16 years of age.

The couple will appear in court on Tuesday.
