Te Papa will reopen at 10am tomorrow after sprinklers went off on Wednesday evening, closing the museum for two days.
The museum's normal opening hours - 10am to 6pm, seven days - will resume from tomorrow morning.
Around 8pm on Wednesday, sprinklers in Te Papa's ground and first floor foyers went off, but there was no fire.
No one was harmed and collection stores and exhibition areas were unaffected.
Spokesperson Kate Camp said the museum's systems were "checked and double-checked" on Thursday and Friday and staff worked through the night to make sure the museum was ready to open on Saturday.
