Arthur Taylor, who allegedly escaped from three prison guards at gunpoint earlier this month has been remanded in custody to appear in Wellington District Court next week.
Taylor, 48, escaped while being escorted to an appointment in central Wellington on March 22. He was caught a short distance away.
In a secure room at Wellington District Court today Justice of the Peace Rohan Kidd further remanded Taylor to reappear in the court on April 6.
He faces charges of escaping, kidnapping and presenting a firearm.
His alleged accomplice Manu Aperhama Royal was still at large today.
Taylor's wife, Carolyn Rochelle Taylor, 29, was yesterday remanded in custody in Wellington District Court until April 4 on four charges of helping his escape and helping Royal avoid arrest.
