KEY POINTS:
Two teenagers have been charged with kidnapping after allegedly abducting a taxi driver at knifepoint in Christchurch last night.
A police spokeswoman said the pair stole wine from a 24-hour shop in Victoria Street around 10pm, then used a knife to force a taxidriver to drive them to several other outlets, where they tried to steal more alcohol.
They will face kidnapping and theft charges in Christchurch Youth Court today.
