Taxi driver injured in attempted robbery

A taxi driver suffered minor injuries in an attempted robbery in Christchurch last night.

Police said the sole passenger showed the driver a knife and demanded money in the Linwood area about 9.20pm. After a short altercation, the man fled on foot.

The taxi driver was treated for largely superficial injuries at Christchurch Hospital.

Police said a 19-year-old man was helping with their inquiries.
