A petition with 40,000 signatures calling for GST to be removed from food and a tax placed on financial speculation instead will be presented to Parliament at noon tomorrow.
Labour's Mangere MP Su'a William Sio will present it to the House.
Green Party co-leader Russel Norman and Mana Party leader Hone Harawira will also be there.
Tax Justice campaign co-ordinator Vaughan Gunson said taking GST off food would give immediate relief to "ordinary New Zealanders struggling to pay the bills".
