The Tauranga Crossing shopping centre in Tauriko was burgled this morning.
Police were called about 5.20am to reports of a burglary at a shopping centre on Taurikura Dr.
Police earlier told the Bay of Plenty Times a vehicle was used to gain access, but a spokesman later said while the event was initially reported to police as a ram raid, this was incorrect and it was a break-in via a glass panel.
He said a scene examination was conducted and inquiries are ongoing to determine what was stolen and identify those involved.
Tauranga Crossing centre manager Janet Vincent said there was a “minor” break-in via a glass panel at the shopping centre this morning.
