Tauranga police are hunting for a man they say is dangerous and may be armed.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Teina Haddon after he failed to appear in the Thames District Court.
The Armed Offenders Squad was called to Papamoa this morning to help in the hunt for him. A section of Beach Road East was closed for nearly an hour as police searched a property for him.
The 24-year-old is known to frequent the Te Puke area and Tauranga.
Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner says Haddon should not be approached and any sightings should be reported immediately.
