Tauranga murder accused to return to court

A 64-year-old man is due back in court this morning charged with the murder of a Tauranga woman.

The woman, who was in her 50s, was found dead in Bell Road on Friday afternoon.

After a brief court appearance on Saturday morning, the man accused of her murder has been remanded in custody for a reappearance today.

He's been granted interim name suppression.

A post mortem will also be carried out today to establish cause of the woman's death.
