A Taupo man who was to stand trial for manslaughter in April has pleaded guilty to the charge.
Adrian Ngamotu, 55, entered the plea via audio-visual link in the High Court at Rotorua today.
He was charged with the manslaughter of Lisa-Anne Ngamotu, 40, after she died in Waikato Hospital from serious injuries sustained at an Acacia Bay property in May last year.
Justice Gerald Van Bohemen remanded Ngamotu, 55, in custody until his sentencing on April 11. He also issued him with the first of a three strikes warning.
Ngamotu initially faced an additional charge of assaulting Logan Gillard using a vehicle as a weapon but that charge has now been withdrawn.
