Taumarunui crash victim named

Police have named the man killed in a two-car crash south of Taumarunui this morning.

Arthur Ngakuru Wildermoth, 41, was driving a car which collided with another vehicle near the intersection of State Highway 4 and SH41 about 2.30am.

His vehicle was propelled off the road and down a bank. He died at the scene.

The driver of the other car was taken to Taumarunui Hospital with serious injuries and has now been moved to Waikato Hospital.

SH4 was closed this morning as serious crash investigators completed a scene examination and has now been reopened.
