Eketahuna women's rugby coach Syd Tatana is taking nothing for granted leading into his team's Wellington premier division match with Petone at Petone tomorrow.
In fact, Tatana says he wants improvement from an Eketahuna squad which has already picked up comfortable wins over Stokes Valley and Wainuiomata.
Retention of possession is one area which needs enhancing and there have been times when the option taking has lacked clarity.
"You have to get those things right against the stronger sides, and that's what we need to work on," Tatana said.
The Wainuiomata match saw Tatana experimenting with playing midfielder Jessie Bennett at flanker and usual lock Raylene Reiri at prop and both responded so well to their new challenge Tatana is now considering permanent changes for them.
However, that is unlikely to happen tomorrow because three of the Eketahuna players will be attending a wedding and Bennett and Reiri are likely to be required to return to their normal roles as a consequence.
