Taranaki residents warned of slips, flooding

Taranaki residents are being warned of possible slips and flooding as heavy rain batters the area.

Metservice has issued a severe weather warning for the region, with heavy rain expected through to mid-afternoon.

Another 50 mm of rain is likely in parts of northern Taranaki until 2pm, on top of what has already fallen.

People are advised that flooding and slips are possible, and rivers may rise rapidly.
