Food suppliers MZ Holdings Ltd is recalling their Mayur brand of Tapioca Chips and Slices, which may pose a health risk.
The company said that the 200g packs of chips and slices, containing the batch number MZ-1 and best before date of 10/11/2010, should not be consumed.
The products had been found to contain an unacceptable levels of substances which may release cyanide when digested.
There had been no reports of illness, but any person concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
The products are sold in Indian retailers outlets in Christchurch, Wellington. Palmerston North and Auckland.
Consumers should return the product to the retailer for a full refund or call 021 686 686 with any questions.
