Former All Black captain Tana Umaga was honoured by his country yesterday.
Umaga was invested as an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to rugby by the new Governor-General, Anand Satyanand, at Government House in Wellington.
Umaga, one of 41 people invested with a royal honour yesterday, described the experience as "very humbling".
"When you hear about what I have done, and what everyone else has done, you start wondering about what you're doing there," the 33-year-old said.
"But it's something to be proud of. You've got to be proud of your achievements."
