KEY POINTS:
Talks between KiwiRail and the union representing captains and deck officers on the Interislander ferries are continuing today.
KiwiRail marketing communications manager Nigel Parry said the strike notice that had been issued for tonight had been withdrawn.
"We've been working very hard to reach a satisfactory settlement and so we're still talking."
The dispute over pay has been going on for almost six months.
