Health authorities are urging continued vigilance against swine flu, despite a drop in the number of infections this month.
The rate of infection of the H1N1 influenza virus has slowed significantly from its peak in July.
The Ministry of Health says that despite this decrease, it is still important to ccontinue good hygiene habits, such as covering coughs and sneezes and frequent thorough washing and drying of hands, to dampen the spread of the virus.
The ministry says it is also important people stay at home if they become unwell and seek medical help if they have underlying health conditions or symptoms worsen.
A total of 3161 cases of swine flu have been confirmed though the actual number of cases is believed to be significantly higher.
Only a small proportion of people with symptoms have been tested.
The ministry says 17 people have died as a direct result of the virus.
Worldwide, about 3500 people have died says the World Health Organisation.
