An Auckland woman who was told to get out of the pool because she was not wearing the correct swimwear can now hit the water without any worry about being thrown out.
Amy-Lee Fox was told she had to get out of YMCA Lagoon Pools and Leisure Centre in Panmure by a lifeguard at the weekend if she did not remove her singlet because she was not wearing the appropriate swimwear.
But an Auckland swimwear shop and its supplier, who did not want to be named, has come to the rescue after reading in the Herald that Fox was not able to swim because of her garment and has given her brand new maternity togs.
Fox, who is 30 weeks pregnant with her third child, said she had been by surprised and upset by the negative comments from social media.
She said she shared her story so it wouldn't happen to other pregnant women and said the gift was a "silver lining" after being publicly embarrassed at the pools.
