A person has died at Rainbow Falls, near Kerikeri in Northland, police say.
"Initial reports suggest the person got into difficulty while swimming. They were pulled from the water, however they were unable to be revived," a police spokeswoman said.
Police were called about 2.11pm, she said.
The death will be referred to the coroner.
